Description

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join the team on our Med-Surg Floor!

Schedule/Shift

Full-time, night shift (7:00 pm - 7:30 am) / Every third weekend and rotating holidays

Unit Overview

Serving the Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Med/Surg floor at Saint Francis Hospital is a 38-bed unit. We care for a wide variety of patients including post-surgical patients, patient with chronic illnesses like Diabetes, and kidney failure, as well as those experiencing acute health issues. We focus on a holistic approach, addressing physical, emotional, and educational needs. This includes but not limited to pain management, wound care, and education on recovery and rehabilitation. We work with an interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans for our patients. Our management team values and promotes work life balance, professional growth, and comradery. Responsibilities Include

  • Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
  • Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
  • Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
  • Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
  • Discusses with and includes patient and/or family, significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
  • Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
  • Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
  • Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing highly preferred
  • Active RN Licensure in State of Delaware
  • BLS Certification required; must obtain ACLS within 3 months of hire
  • Previous med-surg experience highly preferred (at least 1-2 years preferred)
